At Glenville Rotary, helping Veterans is something very close to our hearts. One way we are giving back is through Doggie Paddle, an organization going the distance for Veterans in need of service dogs. US Army Veteran Jimmy Thomas is kayaking from Maalwyck Park in Glenville to Key West Florida along the East Coast. This 5+ month long journey is to raise awareness and funds for veterans in need of a service dog, or care for a service dog already placed with a veteran.
Jimmy will be riding his bicycle back home from Florida to Upstate New York, so make sure you keep an eye out for him and show your support by a friendly wave, a meal, a place to sleep or a monetary donation to the cause. All donations are received through the Glenville Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3).
