At Glenville Rotary, helping Veterans is something very close to our hearts. One way we are giving back is through Doggie Paddle, an organization going the distance for Veterans in need of service dogs.

Jimmy Thomas is taking on a new challenge as he departs this August for a kayak trip down the Mississippi River to again raise awareness for Veterans that could benefit with support from a Service Dog!

Flashback to a prior journey… US Army Veteran Jimmy Thomas kayaked from Maalwyck Park in Glenville to Key West Florida along the East Coast. The 5+ month long journey raised awareness and funds for veterans in need of a service dog, or care for a service dog already placed with a veteran.

Jimmy then rode his bicycle back home from Florida to Upstate New York! We appreciate everyone that kept an eye out for him and showed their support by a friendly wave, a meal, a place to sleep or a monetary donation to the cause. All donations are received through the Glenville Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3). Follow along on Facebook & Instagram @doggiepaddleusa for Jimmy’s journey as he stops along different Rotary clubs along the way and be sure to share it with your friends and family!
