Historically, Rotary has achieved
its objective of "Service Above Self" through activities in four primary areas
which are referred to as the Four Avenues of Service. These
are "Club Service," "Vocational Service," "Community Service," and
"International Service."
International Service -
this relates to the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and
peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in
the ideal of service. International Service Projects are designed to meet the
humanitarian needs of people in many lands, with particular emphasis on the most
underprivileged children and families in developing countries.

Glenville
Rotary works extensively with our sister club in Pakistan. Supporting the
"Water Buffalo" program has provided economic aid to villages in the region.
China Water Projects
Members of the Glenville club recently traveled to China to plan for bringing water to remote villages.

WORLD PEACE
ONE WATER BUFFALO AT TIME
But it's not about
the Water Buffalo.
It's about Self Sufficiency.
It's about Rotarians Worldwide working together.
It's about creating a Mini-Rotary Club within the village.
It's about 25% Return on Investment!!!
How does it work:
1. Rotary creates a Rotary Community Corp (RCC) in a Village.
2. Capital Region Rotary provides the Village RCC with 38 Water Buffalo for
$27K.
3. The RCC selects 38 of the poorest families.
4. Thirty-eight families derive sustenance and income from their Water Buffalo.
5. The Village RCC has a 50% interest in the calves.
Bottom line: A perpetual Fund for Improving the Village.
$27K seed money from Capital Region Rotary District 7190 . . .
. . .generates $7K annually . . .
. . . that the Village RCC can use . . .
. . . for sewing machines, bicycles, school supplies, drinking water, health
clinics, and so on, . . .. . . forever.
